LAX is one of the nation’s busiest airports.  In 2009, it was the third
busiest in the U.S.  It serves as a hub for United Airlines, Alaska
Airlines, and is a focus city for American Airlines, Southwest Airlines,
Allegiant Air, Air New Zealand, Mexicana, and Virgin America.  It’s also
an international gateway for Delta Airlines.

Public Parking

Parking Rates
Central Terminal Area Parking: $30.00 per day max.
Lot C: First 2 hrs free; $1 per add’l 2 hr period; daily max $12.
Lot B: CLOSED.
Motorcycles can park free in Central Terminal Area Parking Structures.

More than 21,144 parking spaces are available. In addition to 10,000 parking spaces in the central terminal area, LAX has a capacity of 11,000 cars in its economy-rate, long term parking areas. Valet parking is available across from Terminal 4.

Free shuttle service to airline terminals is provided around the clock from Lot C. Perimeter parking Lot C, northeast of the airport, also contains the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Bus Center, which connects public bus systems with the courtesy LAX shuttle bus service provided by the airport.

For those picking up arriving passengers at LAX, the airport opened a new free cell-phone waiting lot at the southwest corner of Parking Lot C.  It is 1/4 mile from the 96th Street Bridge entrance to the passenger terminal.  Motorists must remain with their vehicles at all times while waiting to pick-up arriving passengers.

Public Transportation

Among the modes of transportation available at LAX are airport bus service, door-to-door shuttle van service, local bus lines, light rail, rental cars, and taxicabs. A free, frequent shuttle bus connects LAX with MTA’s Green Line Light Rail. Shuttle service is provided at no charge for passengers making connecting flights between terminal buildings.

LAX FlyAway bus service is offered to and from four locations: Union Station, Van Nuys, Westwood, and Irvine.
