Miami International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the United States, serving some 34 million passengers in 2008. It’s a hub for American Airlines, and is a major gateway to the Caribbean and Latin America. Miami ranks as the second-busiest airport in the nation in terms of international travel, behind only New York-JFK.
If you need help while at MIA, look for the airport’s Volunteer Customer Service representatives. They circulate throughout the terminals, and are easy to spot in their orange polo shirts.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION
Rental Cars
A number of rental car companies have counters or reservation boards located inside the baggage claim area of the North and Central Terminals. The South Terminal uses the rental car phone center located at the information and reservations boards on the Arrival/Ground level and on the third floor. Shuttles take passengers to the rental lots, which are located off the airport premises.
Bus/Train Service
Miami-Dade County Transit provides Metrobus service to the airport. A stop is located on the ground level of Concourse E, directly across from Customs.
Taxis
There’s a flat rate of $24 to the Port of Miami/cruise ships. To downtown, the estimated cost is $22.
Shuttles
SuperShuttle provides service at the airport. Proceed to the curb outside the luggage claim area. Call (305) 871-2000.
