The Houston Airport System operates both the George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and the smaller William P. Hobby Airport (HOU).  Bush Intercontinental is home to Continental Airlines, which operates a major hub at the airport.  IAH currently serves the third-most destinations (170) among U.S. airports, and ranks as the eighth busiest airport in the country, in terms of passengers served.

The airport has 5 terminals (A, B, C, D, and E). They’re all connected by underground train service.

PARKING

IAH offers over 25,000 parking spaces.
The airport offers parking garages outside all the terminals. They also operate ‘Parking Cents’, an economy lot located just outside the airport, with free shuttles to the terminals.
Terminal parking: $2 first hour; $3 for 1-2 hrs; $5 for 2-3 hrs; $7 for 3-5 hrs; $17 for 5-24 hrs.
Parking Cents: $3 first 3 hrs, $6 for 3-24 hrs.

GETTING AROUND THE AIRPORT

TerminalLink is an automated people mover that provides airside access between Terminals B, C, D, and E.  Additionally, there is an underground train service providing pre-security connections between all five terminals.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION

Rental Cars
A Consolidated Rental Car Facility serves IAH from the east side of JFK Blvd., less than 5 minutes from the terminals. Look for the white and maroon buses marked “Rental Car Shuttle” outside the terminals.

Taxis
Taxis can be hailed through the Ground Transportation employees outside each terminal. All destinations within Houston’s city limits to/from IAH are charged according to the flat Zone Rate or the meter rate, whichever is LESS.
In addition, city ordinance authorizes the cab driver to add an additional $2.75 departure fee to the total fare of metered rates only. Two or more passengers going to the same destination shall only be charged one fare.
Late night surcharge of $1.00 per trip (8pm – 6am).
Senior citizens get a 10% discount.

Hotel Vans
Many hotels offer airport courtesy vans. Use the courtesy phones in the baggage claim ares to request pick-up.

Public Transportation
The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County operates public bus service throughout the greater Houston area. Service is available at the south side of Terminal C on Route 102 (Bush Intercontinental Airport Express).

Metro’s Airport Direct also offers service from Terminal C direct to the Downtown Transit Center. Fares are $15 each way for the 30 minute trip. Buses run every 30 minutes.

SHOPPING / DINING

The airport features a wide range of dining and shopping options. Detailed lists: Terminal A, Terminal B, Terminal C, Terminal D, Terminal E.

HOTELS

The Marriott Airport Hotel is located in the center of the passenger terminal complex. It offers complimentary underground train access to the terminals.

WI-FI

Bush Intercontinental does not offer complimentary Wi-Fi service. However, pay Wi-Fi is available throughout the terminals through Boingo.

OTHER SERVICES

Pet relief areas are available outside Terminals A, B, C, and D.
Baggage carts are available for a cost of $4. Carts are available at no charge to customers arriving on international flights.
