Free Wi-Fi Revoution Spreads at Airports: SFO, Bob Hope Join the Crowd

One by one, airports across the nation continue to add free Wi-Fi service.

There are still many large hubs that haven’t gotten on board – most notably, Atlanta, Chicago O’Hare, Dallas-Fort Worth, and the New York City airports – but the picture is improving on the West Coast.

Maui Gets Boost as Hawaiian Adds New Flights to Mainland

Fresh on the heels of welcoming new Airbus A330 jets to its fleet, Hawaiian Airlines is now adding more service between Maui and the mainland.

The carrier says it will add non-stop service between Maui and Las Vegas, beginning October 3.  Hawaiian already offers three-times daily service between Honolulu and Sin City.

The flights are primarily aimed at Maui residents, but are also intended to serve the Las Vegas community with ties to the island.

United-Continental Merger: Red Flags at 17 Airports

A new report suggests that federal regulators may see “red flags” when considering the merger between United and Continental Airlines.

The report from Cambridge Aviation Research suggests that the concerns may come from that fact that the new airline would have too high a market concentration at 17 airports, including LAX.

Holiday Travel at San Diego's Lindbergh Field

This holiday season, I found myself at the airport on what should have been a relatively slow travel day — Christmas.

It paid a visit on San Diego’s Lindbergh Field, to pick up a family member arriving from the Midwest.

My trip was an opportunity to see just how many people travel on the 25th of December, and also to check out California’s third-busiest airport first-hand.
First, I discovered that a lot of people do indeed take to the skies on Christmas day. I was surprised by the amount of activity I saw.
