Smoking Diplomat Sparks Bomb Scare on United Flight

A man carrying diplomatic credentials from Qatar sparked a bomb scare Wednesday evening aboard a United Airlines flight from Washington to Denver.

According to accounts, the man, identified as Mohammed Al-Madadi, was smoking in one of the plane’s lavatories.

Once questioned about his behavior on board the plane, it’s reported that the diplomat joked about having a shoe bomb.

Delta, US Airways Modify Slot Swap Plan

Delta Air Lines and US Airways are modifying a request to swap slots at New York’s LaGuardia and Washington’s Reagan National airports.

The move comes as the two carriers attempt to gain approval from the Department of Transportation, which denied their original request.
